Description

Business Development Manager
Purpose:
To identify and capture new opportunities in the target markets and close sales to consistently to achieve agreed targets.
Responsibilities:
To generate awareness of solutions in the target markets and identify prospective customers.
To follow through and close business opportunities to achieve agreed targets.
Activity:

  • Drive and manage the sales process from initiation to implementation including: prospecting, qualification, specification, quoting, follow up, closure and post implementation follow up
  • Generation of new sales leads
  • Obtain detailed requirements from clients for potential solutions (Software and Services) & provide detailed written quotations / proposals
  • Deliver product demonstrations
  • Obtain detailed understanding of each client and their business to further develop and maintain a strong working alliance with existing customers to maximize ongoing sales opportunities.
  • Initiate and/or support lead generation activities
  • To provide detailed and accurate reports to the Sales Manager on, sales opportunities, sales activities, marketing activities etc.
  • Develop strong industry and product knowledge
  • Provide detailed market/competitor understanding and intelligence
  • Identify new markets and opportunities
  • Assistance with administration of Sales Orders, New Accounts, or debt collection where applicable
  • Ensure all sales opportunities, contact information and activities are recorded
    Technical skill:
    Business degree - Marketing degree or equivalent.
    12 - 24 months Proven Solution sales experience.
    Non technical skill:
    Commercial appreciation of industry.
    Good understanding of functional solutions.
    Excellent communication skills.
    Qualifying criteria:
    Expert understanding of the sales cycle.
    Demonstrate consistent marketing, sales, planning and closure of a complex sales cycle.
    Ability to develop and maintain superior client relationships. Understanding across the software development life cycle
    Advancement criteria:
    Demonstrate expert knowledge in the product and industry.
    Proven ability in successful delivering complex sales using the Solution Selling approach.
    Proven leadership qualities.
