Description
We are currently looking for a Senior Interaction Architect position to add to their growing User Experience team. You will set the direction for all research and pre-production processes used in the User Experience team by Creative Producers and Interface Designers. Set the direction on how research is organized to discover, understand, promote and support the goals of the end user. Work with Creative Producers to ensure that all research and pre-production efforts are communicated well to business stakeholders. Work to establish guidelines, best practices and standards in the use of pre-production tools (e.g. interactive wireframing, information architecture, site maps, navigation schemes and so on). Provide consultative and mentoring support in architecting interaction design solutions. Support user testing efforts throughout a project lifecycle.

Responsibilities:
Work with Creative Producers and Usability Specialists to plan, conduct and evaluate appropriate research (field observation, contextual interviewing, task analysis, usability testing, competitive analysis, industry trends, social trends, stakeholder interviewers) to uncover customer needs and define context of project.
Work with usability specialists.
Establish common practices to translate research findings into user personas, scenarios of use and concept models for web site or application.
Work with Creative Producers to understand what users of business unit web products need and want to do in the context of those products, and ensure the development of the interfaces for those products best serve user needs.
Create or works with Creative Producers, Interface Designers and Usability Specialists to develop materials for testing (paper prototypes, electronic click-through prototypes, live system testing, etc.).
Support appropriate usability testing for different phases of projects.
Work with Creative Producers to evaluate and translate research findings into actionable insights and design improvements.
Establish approaches in creating user-centered site architecture documentation (including interaction models, site navigation, information structuring, labeling and searching systems).
Develop prioritized recommendations for user testing and performance measurement for web site or application with the usability team.
Interface with graphic designers to translate architecture into the look-and-feel of interfaces.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Library and Information Science, Graphic Design, Human Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or related field and at least five years experience strategizing and architecting user interface design for high-traffic dynamic websites as well as experience with e-commerce design.
Master's degree, content management experience and management experience preferred.
Must show samples of site documentation.

The ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage personal workflow against project budgets and timelines in a fast-paced, evolving environment; strong oral and written communication skills; and excellent analytic and problem solving skills.
Translation of user research data, business requirements and competitive analysis findings into concrete site-building tactics
Conceptualization and design of navigation, labelling, searching and organization systems for web sites and applications (must bring samples)
An understanding of HTML, DHTML, CSS and JavaScript; personalization, customization and content management systems; major graphic design applications; standard office productivity applications
Experience with one or more diagramming tools (i.e. Visio, Adobe Illustrator, or equivalent draw/map programs
