Software Engineer This role is with a leading organisation based in the CBD. They are seeking a top notch Conversion Engineer to Maintain and Develop appropriate conversion applications and tools. I Skill Set Requirements: In depth knowledge of Delphi 5, Delphi 7, Interbase (SQL, stored procedures, triggers etc) and an understanding of other database technologies (Foxpro, SQL Server, Access, Paradox etc) Ability to mine structure and data from source databases, which are most often not Interbase databases. Understand how upgrades to software may affect conversion processes. Undertake trial and live conversions to client deadlines Track and resolve client database issues throughout conversion process This may include upgrading of tools, especially on new conversions, or where functional specs of the source database have changed due to legislation etc Develop and apply Post Conversion fixes to client database In many cases the generic conversion process misses data that the customer considers important. Scripts, extracts and reports need to be developed to add this data in after the client has "gone live" Maintain appropriate Audit Trail and records Answer Client queries when technical problems escalated from CSD Write SQL Scripts as required by CSD Develop Stand alone interfaces/tools for Database Skill Set :Delphi, XML, SQL, SOAP, DDE Write Documentation for Conversion Processes, Applications and Tools.
